The NFL season is still a few months out, and the Draft is behind us, but let’s take a look at some prospects that I believe should’ve been picked before they were.
DB Derwin James Rd. 1 P. 17 Chargers – James to the Chargers at first seemed strange to me. Gus Bradley the D-Coordinator in Los Angeles, was Kam Chancellor’s D-Coordinator in Seattle when his stock began to rise. I think he will start right away, and i was surprised at how late he fell to.
WR Equanimeous St. Brown Rd. 6 P. 247 Packers- St. Brown didn’t have the JR. season most intended for him, but still performed. His Sophomore year he hauled in 58 receptions for 961 yards and 9 TD’s. I was shocked to see him fall this late, and giving Aaron Rodgers a 6’5 endzone Threat is dangerous.
OT Jamarco Jones Rd. 5 P. 168 Seahawks – the 6’5 310 lb. Tackle is going to be good for years to come in my opinion. You rarely heard his name if you watched any Ohio State games, and that’s a good thing for an O-Lineman. On 431 pass blocking snaps, he allowed just 11 pressures.
RB Derrius Guice Rd. 2 P. 59 Redskins – over the past two years Guice accumulated 2,638 rushing yards. Guice was my 2nd overall running back behind Barkley, and when i saw the Seahawks pick Penny, i actually laughed. Guice will haunt the teams that didn’t pick him.
Honorable mentions: Deon Cain, Shaquem Griffin, Josh Jackson, Antonio Callaway, John Kelley, Donte Jackson
