NFL Off-Season Continues to be a Shit Show, Marcell Dareus Sued for Sexual Assault

“NBC Sports-The quiet time recently has gotten particularly unquiet, when it comes to allegations of off-field misconduct.
According to News4Jax.com, Jaguars defensive tackle Marcel Dareus has been sued for sexual assault, and for exposing the unnamed plaintiff to a sexually-transmitted disease.
The lawsuit claims that Dareus had sex with the plaintiff “while she was unconscious and therefore without her consent,” and that in a later consensual encounter, Dareus allegedly failed to disclose that he has herpes.
The alleged incidents occurred in Houston in early April. It’s unclear whether a criminal complaint has been filed. Dareus is subject to NFL scrutiny under the Personal Conduct Policy regardless of whether criminal charges are pursued.”

People being found dead at houses. Girlfriends and dogs allegedly being beat up. And now having sex with an unconscious person (rape) all while failing to tell that person that you had herpes.

So it’s almost certain that Dareus is going to get suspended right? Even if criminal charges aren’t pursed against him. If someone is complaining that someone had sex with them while they were unconscious, and that person had herpes, then that sounds like they violated the Personal Conduct Policy.

I don’t know what’s going on with the NFL, but they need to figure something out. Realistically, could you follow Vince McMahon’s XFL Rule and not allow players with a criminal record to be in the league? No, because that destroys the talent completely. I guess just do what Goodell did when he first took over as commissioner. Make the suspensions even tougher and make the fines even more expensive. Suspend players for whole seasons for shit (other than drugs) if you have to. Take away their paycheck for an entire year. Maybe then they’ll quit making all these stupid off the field decisions.
