Machado Expected to Become a Dodger

“USA Today Sports-  The Baltimore Orioles, barring a last minute snag, will trade All-Star shortstop Manny Machado to the Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday, according to a baseball official with direct knowledge of the deal.
The official spoke to USA TODAY Sports on the condition of anonymity because the trade has not been finalized.
Though, the Milwaukee Brewers and Philadelphia Phillies could still be in the mix.
The Dodgers appear to be going all in with Machado for a two-plus month rental. At the break, they are 53-43 and sit in first place in the National League West. They lead the Arizona Diamondbacks by a 1/2 game and the Colorado Rockies by two games.”

Well it’s about time. As soon as Seagar went down due to injury, the Dodgers should’ve started calling for Machado right away. In all reality, I’m sure they did. They’ve probably called every day, 2-3 times a day trying to get Machado to fill Corey Seagar’s role. But the Orioles did the smart thing. Hold out as long as you can. Get the most out of a trade that you can for your superstar player to get your rebuild rolling. Also smart on the business side by Baltimore. Generate some revenue with all of the Machado All-Star gear and ticket sales. Because after he becomes a Dodger, NO ONE will be at Camden Yards to see that god awful team play.

Milk it for a better deal. Milk it for the extra dollar. Hold on for as long as you can.

The Baltimore Orioles perfectly executed the divorce.
