UCF -24 @ UConn
Scott Frost’s former team should still have enough to talent to destroy the miserable UConn Huskies. UConn went 3-9 last year, and don’t expect this year to be any better.
Minnesota -22 vs New Mexico State
NMSU struggled last week against Wyoming and ultimately lost the game by three touchdowns. Minnesota will handle them pretty easily. Expect PJ Fleck’s squad to come out energized and ready to roll, as they look to take another step towards becoming a Big Ten contender this season.
Purdue -1.5 vs Northwestern
The first game on ESPN this season should be a good one. It’s not clear if Elijah Sindelar or David Blough will start for Purdue, but I’m still taking them because of home field advantage and Jeff Brohm’s staff.
Friday, August 31st
Michigan State -23.5 vs Utah State
Utah State has a tradition of getting the shit kicked out of them by a Big Ten school to start the season (lost 10-59 @ Wisconsin last year). Michigan State’s talent level just simply outmatches Utah State in any and every way, so 24 points shouldn’t be too difficult for them to handle.
Stanford -14 vs San Diego State
SDSU was able to upset Stanford last season, but they’ll have a much tougher time without Rashaad Penny coming to their rescue. It doesn’t help that the game is at Stanford either. Bryce Love will probably explode, and his Heisman Campaign will be in full force.
Saturday, September 1st
Kentucky -17 vs Central Michigan
UK running back Benny Snell will run all over Central Michigan, and he’ll probably win the game by himself.
Marshall -2.5 @ Miami OH
Marshall lost Quarterback Chase Litton, but they should still be able to beat the god-awful RedHawks by at least three.
Michigan ML -105 @ Notre Dame
In my squad I trust.
Alabama -24.5 vs Louisville
UL will struggle in their first game without Lamar Jackson, and it definitely doesn’t help that they have to go against the best team and one of the toughest defenses in the country. Tua or Jalen for Alabama? It honestly doesn’t matter. Bama would still cover the spread without even attempting a pass if they wanted to.
Arizona -11.5 vs BYU
Khalil Tate and the Arizona offense will come out hot and they should be able to handle BYU by at least two touchdowns.
Sunday, September 2nd
LSU +3.5 vs Miami
Coach O’s defense will keep the game close for the Tigers. They’ll struggle on offense like always, so I guess that kind of sucks. Miami by a field goal.
Monday, September 3rd
Florida State -7.5 vs Virginia Tech
Justin Fuente has kept Virginia Tech pretty relevant over the past few years, so congrats. Florida State sucked dick last year, shit happens. Deondre Francois is back from injury for the Seminoles, and the program has a breath of fresh air now thanks to the arrival of Willie Taggart. Tallahassee will be rocking Monday night, so that only adds on to Florida State’s advantage. FSU by 10-13.
