The sophomore QB out of La Marisa, California, playing for Hawaii, is statistically the best quarterback in the nation.
Granted, he has played Colorado State, Navy, and Rice, but what Mcdonald has done shouldn’t be overlooked. In his first start of his career, Mcdonald led the Rainbow Warriors to a 43-34 win over Colorado State. Going 26-37 for 418 Yards and 3 touchdowns, rushing 13 times for 99 yards and another 2 scores, Mcdonald looked like a seasoned vet.
The following week he followed up that performance with a 30-41 428 yard, 6 TD, performance against Navy.
Ultimately last week against Rice he went 22-33 for 319 yards and 4 touchdowns, rushing for 58 more yards.
For anyone who doesn’t feel like doing the math, over 3 games, that’s 78-111 (70%), 1165 Yards, 13 touchdowns , 0 Interceptions, 125 rushing yards, and 2 more touchdowns.
Don’t come at me telling me the competition he plays isn’t the same as any power 5 school, I get that, but what this kid is doing is special. Is he going to be Colt Brennan? I think he’ll be better. I’m a big fan.
