College Football Week 3 Recap

We got blowouts. We got upsets. We got good games. We got cancellations. We got it all from Week 3. Let’s look back at some of the bigger games from the week, and let’s get ready for Week 4.

Does Anyone Have a Fucking Chance to Beat Bama?

Short answer: No.

Ole Miss scored on their first play of the game, and it was looking like we were going to have another Ole Miss vs Alabama upset. Shit changed, quickly. Tua had another efficient game, going 11 for 15 threw the air with two touchdowns and 191 yards. 10 different players from Bama carried the ball, and they combined for 210 yards and three touchdowns on 44 carries. Bama’s defense proved to be almighty powerful, once again, by limiting the leading passer in the SEC to just 7 completions on 22 attempts, and 133 yards. They also forced Jordan Ta’amu to throw 2 interceptions, and one was returned for an Alabama touchdown.

Bama hosts Texas A&M this week, and the Aggies have absolutely no shit in defeating the Crimson Tide. But who knows? Maybe history will repeat itself.

Ohio State Goes Undefeated without Meyer

Ohio State was able to survive Urban Meyer’s three-game suspension (should’ve been fired), and he now returns to the sideline for a tune-up game against Tulane before Penn State. I doubt there’ll be any major changes to OSU’s style of play with Meyer’s return, since he’s basically just a CEO while Ryan Day and Greg Schiano does all the work. The Fuckeyes will easily handle Tulane, and then the real fun starts when the weekend after when they travel to Penn State.

OU Holds off Iowa State

Oklahoma was able to avenge their loss against the Cyclones from last year, and they can thank Quarterback Kyler Murray for it. Murray threw for 348 yards and 3 TDs, while also gaining 77 yards on the ground. Maybe it’s time to fire up the Heisman Campaign for the Oakland Athletics’ first round campaign.

The Mormons Defeat the Badgers

I don’t know too many people that saw this coming. BYU didn’t really do anything special except for play defense and hand it off to Squally Canada. Yes, that’s his real name.

Hornibrook’s inability to make plays ultimately cost Wisconsin the game, and I wouldn’t even be able to imagine how hard his life would be right now if BYU had picked this off.

FUCK DEM

LSU went in and upset Auburn at their place, proving that they may be a force to reckon with in not only the SEC, but in all of college football. If the Tigers continue to play this way, they could have a chance to make the College Football Playoff, even with a loss to Alabama.

Texas Dominates USC

Is Texas back? Only time will tell, but Longhorn fans have to be feeling good after this win. The future is bright though for USC, as freshman quarterback JT Daniels completed 30 of his 48 attempts for 322 yards. USC’s problem? Well, they only had -5 team rushing yards.

Washington Holds off Utah

An absolute snooze fest. I was forced to watch this game on a long bus ride back, and I can name about a million other things I would have rather done. Washington defeated the Utes with minimal effort 21-7, and it’s mostly thanks to Gaskin’s 143 yards on the ground.

Don’t Look Now, But Kansas is on a WINNING STREAK

Kansas somehow beat the shit out of Rutgers, the other LOL team of college football, 55-14. Last week, Kansas defeated Central Michigan on the road 31-7. I was ready to have their program shut down after their Week 1 loss against Nicholls St, but it looks like the Jayhawks have figured things out? Are they a dark horse contender to win the Big 12? Fuck no. After taking a peak at their schedule, which is full of Big 12 games, it looks like they will ultimately finish 2-10, once again. That’s OK though, Jayhawk fans, because it’s almost basketball season. Enjoy this winning streak while it lasts, and get ready for Baylor next week.
